We were initially impressed with this wooden peel, but after just a few uses the wood began to split and it soon curled into an unusable warp. We never put it in the dishwasher and only gently scrubbed it off with warm water. However, we didn't treat it with mineral oil. If you're going to get this thing, get some mineral oil and be obsessive about taking care of it or it'll be a waste of money.

Works well! Conditioned with mineral oil after receiving it, and it has helped make many a pizza. It's quite large, but easy to store by just hanging the handle on a nail in the wall.
2009-11-24 Pizza Peel
Nice and big will fit very large pizzas. Warped slightly first time I washed it. Now I wash both sides.
2009-11-23 Just make sure you have room
This is the real thing. Previously I'd been using a little guy that had always fallen short. The only problem I have now is it doesn't fit it any of my cabinets or my pantry it's so big (23.25" from tip to tip and 14" wide). I can't even hang it on the end of one of my kitchen cabinets. I still love it and use it all the time, just need to find a good place to keep it that isn't sitting on the floor. Right now I have on the counter leaning against a wall.
2009-11-02 Faulty Design
I bought my Sassafras Pizza on July 25th and treated it with food-safe mineral oil after each use. Now it has split down the middle, rendering it unusable! I cannot find a contact for problems like this on Amazon. Since I used this item quite often, I am very unhappy. A word to the wise: DO NOT BUY THE SASSAFRAS PIZZA PEEL.
