Album Description Jack sings with a sometimes soaring, sometimes abrasive abandon that shows he really means the lyrics he's singing. Combine that with his fierce, dirty, reverb-soaked guitar playing and Meg's powerfully minimal start/stop drumming, and you've got a rock band that is primal, melodic, punk and sophisticated all at once. 17 tracks of blissful noise.

The White Stripes' self-titled debut album is purely amazing. Diving straight in with "Jimmy the Exploder", the song is incredibly catchy. The main riff, however simple, is genius, and you won't be able to get it out of your head. Throughout the album, Jack and Meg's souls and energy are poured into the music, and it obvious that so much work was put into the album. However long you've been interested in the Stripes, this album will surely be an amazing complement to the rest of your collection, and after you've listened to the first album, you won't be able to wait to buy the others.
2010-03-15 Excellent again
Jack White has proved he's among the few great and consistant musician/writers of the modern era.Again, these catchy and masterful numbers add to what has been a remarkable career.
2009-12-03 100% Pure Unadulterated Garage Rock.
The music on this album is about as raw and basic as you can get. It is grainy and unpolished and sounds like a demo tape, yet, that is a big part of it's charm. It's barebones and gritty and it Rocks. It's definitely not for everyone, that's for sure. But, I love the hell out of it.
Standout tracks are Jimmy The Exploder, Stop Breaking Down, Suzy Lee, Cannon, Astro, Broken Bricks, and Screwdriver.
2009-11-12 Amazing Debut!
Definitely feel the raw energy in this first album, starting from the first track "Jimmy The Exploder" to the end. Just amazing!!
